Thailand’s viral hippo Moo Deng thrills fans with new theme song

Time to shake those hips!

Moo Deng, the internet’s favorite pygmy hippopotamus, now has an official theme song.

Thailand’s 4-month-old zoo viral sensation, slinky and slithery, won hearts across the globe as videos of her adorable antics went viral online.

Now Moo Deng fans who are hungry for more hippo content can blast the river tot’s new theme song titled, “Moodeng Moodeng.”

“Moo Deng Moo Deng, Boing Boing Boing/ Mommy mommy, play with me,” go the lyrics in the 50-second track.

“Please mommy, come and play with me, dance with me, mommy,” the lyrics continue.

Moo Deng’s mother, Jona, is a fan favorite even though she is more stoic than her brood and is seen in the video kindly ignoring the baby’s seemingly constant attempts to play.

The hippo named Pygmy can be seen in a video for the song, which shows a loop of Moo Deng stumbling with her slick feet on the wet rocks of her enclosure at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo.

The ear-splitting yet attractive is available in several languages ​​- including English, Thai, Japanese and Chinese.

The banger is the brainchild of acclaimed Thai composer Mueanphet Ammara and Thai entertainment giant GMM.

Moo Deng translates to “jumping pig” or “bloated pig” and is the name of a special type of meatball originating from Thailand. Fans on social media point out that the baby hippo’s name is apt, as she is seen constantly sliding, jumping, jumping, shaking, shaking and prodding in live streams and videos shared by the zoo.

Pygmy hippos, native to West Africa, are classified as an endangered species, with only 2,000 to 3,000 of them left in the wild.

Moo Deng recently successfully dabbled in political forecasting – when she accurately predicted President-elect Donald Trump would win the 2024 presidential election.

Earlier this year, “Saturday Night Live” found itself in hot water when it used Moo Deng’s viral fame as a foil for singer-songwriter Chappell Roan, who also rose to overnight fame this year.
